Alice Winter indicted for high treason

It was reported that on the 7th day of May 1412 Alice Winter came into  the shop of Robert Walker and desired that of the Master thereof to give her two six pences for a shilling. Robert Walker took the shillling and perceiving that it to be clipt told her that she deserved to be questioned on how she came by it upon which she run out of the shop as fast as she could. Then a persuite was made after her, On being overtaken and brought back she was carried before a justice of peace who on ezamination she said that her friend gave it to her. On ezamination they found her lodgings where in they found pots and sheers and other impliments for the imployment of clipping

Found guilty by the jury she was returned to her cell while the sentance was to be decided
